I think Leo is really wrong about Twitter being like GEnie or AOL. Twitter is in this odd place of having created a messaging bus/platform that’s as elemental as email but isn’t as open as Identica is.
None of the propriety online systems had the ecosystem that Twitter has, with the hundreds of products and services that are based on Twitter’s API. And even without using the API, Twitter is open to Google, publishes Atom and RSS feeds of each users message stream and produces markup that uses the hcard microformat (http://microformats.org/wiki/hcard) to describe the followers and the users you’re following on your Twitter page. No need to scape the page–it’s all right here in nice, parse-able XHTML. That is, ever page on Twitter has an API for accessing it.
No, Twitter isn’t 100% open, but they’re pretty close and certainly a lot better than they generally get credit for.

Plaxo is horrible as you don’t have control of unchecking contacts; ALL of your Outlook contacts are emailed with the Plaxo “join your friend on Plaxo” ad. I’ll check them out again, but they should have had fixed that by now.
Right on target, Leo, diversify (and aggregate for ease of use on the cutomer input/upload side) your site/blog/whatever on multiple ISPs (at least 3 , and regionally different). For no other reason than even when an ISP doesn’t pay their bill higher up the chain (can we say: ”
“mic was covered” on the beautiful iPhone – no, Leo is right, use a land line or a Nokia (better mics). Maybe experiment with a good quality external mic, if you insist on a cellphone?
Actually, Mark was telling C. Rose that print “has to die, …has to go away” as a model for news. But, newspapers are important as papers (you hold in your hand). UNTIL we can have digital paper that they can HOLD in their HANDS or lay on a TABLE (flat), there won’t be a death of paper – there can’t be, as I feel thee are too many people who want the holding of the news. Now banks, on the other hand, I totally agree with Adreesens take on banking (very clever).
But, man, Mark A. MUST get some help regarding his take on face-to-face conversations vs. txting or forums.
As far as twitter “addition”, how well do we really want people to know us and how well do we really want to know every minute of every day of some one else? (and not just with twittering). How much did we want this BEFORE twittering, before email, before telegrams, before mail, before distance drumming? I think that there is somewhat an evolution, but do we need this kind of evolution? Scoble probably photographs at least 80% of his day, the rest probably eating, drinking, twittering. Otherwise we are talking SkyNet!
Can we lose the”AM Talk Reverb” mixed in the audio? It’s distracting. Then again, it could be my Windows Media DX settings (oops).

And techcrunch needs a time-out edit feature in their commenting system for minor leave-outs, typos, and mistakes.

naturally like your web-site but you need to check the spelling on quite a few of your posts. Many of them are rife with spelling issues and I find it very bothersome to tell the truth nevertheless I’ll definitely come back again.
